Her Silent Mouth

Maybe the reason
she can never really shut her trap,
is because she was told
to be silent all her life.
And when at last her mouth was free,
overwhelming freedom
became her sole defense.
Bombarding those
who oppose her with bombs
however hollow they may be.
All of them, the same …
the words she speak
tell much about her soul.
The words that leave her mouth,
as deprived as she once was.
Maybe it is why,
why she rallies …
against all those who oppress her,
to show the world she is strong,
maybe it is why she never tires
complaining,
of the wretchedness
in the place she lives in.
She was told to be quiet
all her life,
now she lives in silence,
but her mouth says otherwise.
