Don’t Fool Me

All I ask in return is honesty

Because for the better part of my history,

I was wronged and fooled by those I trusted.

Loyalty is a two-way street.

Please don’t make me regret it.

I don’t want my best memory

to be hurt.

I don’t want another apocalypse.

The pieces lay there, shattered and unscattered.

Please don’t add more to the debris.
