- Call a friend, (or if you can’t text them the plate number of the vehicle you’re riding in). If you do call, do it once inside the vehicle. Make sure the driver hears so he won’t do anything stupid.
- If the driver does anything foolish, (e.g. flirts and way out of bounds, or if he refuses to take you as a passenger because your destination is near and he prefers a passenger that can give him more profit), get off. Take his ID name and plate number and report him to the proper authorities. LTFRB and/or the nearest police station.
- When entering the PUV, remember the driver’s face, the ID, all things necessary (plate number, like I always keep mentioning) in case of emergency.
- If nothing happens and you arrive at your destination safe, sound, and with your dignity intact, inform your ‘friend’ so they will know.
Actually, on a side note, it is better to remember and take note of the plate numbers of every PUV you take a ride from. In case you lose something or if something happens to you while riding the said vehicle. But if you feel confident nothing would happen, don’t.
Murphy’s Law, remember?
